- The OM 654 is designed to meet future emissions regulations (RDE – Real Driving Emissions) and the Euro 6d-TEMP standard. The majority of components relevant to effectively reducing emissions are directly installed on the engine
- The V-Class features a newly designed bumper with striking cooling air inlets and a new diamond structure in the radiator grille
- Active Brake Assist is standard and can, depending on the situation, reduce the severity of a collision with a vehicle in front, stationary obstacles and crossing pedestrians (in urban traffic), or it can even prevent them from occurring altogether
- Luxury rear seats (for the first row only) will be optionally available and include a massage and reclining function, air conditioning and a footrest – usually found in the flagship S-Class
- The new V-Class now features Highbeam Assist Plus which makes it possible to drive with the main-beam headlamps permanently on, automatically switching to
dipped-beam when the situation requires - The standard V-Class comes with seven seats. Long and extra-long models have eight seats, however an optional seven seat package – which adds a folding table – will be available
- UK cars will come as standard with Agility Control comfort suspension
- Electric sliding doors are standard across the range
- The Driving Assistance package will also be available as an option and includes Distance Pilot DISTRONIC; Lane-Keeping Assist; Blind Spot Assist; and PRE-SAFE anticipatory safety system
- The V-Class is produced in Vitoria, Spain and as part of the joint venture Fujian Benz Automotive Corporation in Fuzhou, China. The Mercedes-Benz plant in Vitoria is the international centre of competence of Mercedes-Benz Vans for medium-size vehicles
Marco Polo and Marco Polo Horizon
- The Marco Polo camper van, which can seat or sleep four people, comes as standard with a fully-equipped kitchenette which includes a gas hob with two burners, a sink and refrigerator
- A two-seater sofa can easily be transformed into a bed, plus a roof bed can be accessed via an electrically raising roof. It also includes a wardrobe; a generous luggage compartment; an awning; and an outside table and two chairs
- Thermatic three-zone automatic climate control will come as standard on the Marco Polo Horizon and Marco Polo
- The Marco Polo Horizon further broadens the range’s appeal by combining quality with practical flexibility. It comes with a rear bench seat (for three passengers) which doubles as a generously-sized bed, along with a manually-operated pop-up roof. When the pop-up roof is in place an upper bunk can be accessed. The driver and front passenger seat can also be turned around so they’re facing the rear passenger compartment
- The Marco Polo Horizon can seat up to five occupants, while the Marco Polo can seat four
