A 200 d; A 220 d - The A-Class (codenamed W177) is now in its fourth generation; the first was launched in 1997
- The new A-Class hatchback is wider (+14 mm), longer (+30 mm), more efficient, and packed with innovative new technology. The interior borrows finishing touches from the flagship S-Class, including a steering wheel with touchpads and the fully-digital cockpit display. Highlights of standard equipment includes the all-new MBUX user experience with a touchscreen interface – a first for Mercedes-Benz – and ‘Hey Mercedes’ intelligent voice recognition
- The A 180 features a 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 136 hp and 200 Nm. It can deliver between 47.9 and 46.3 combined mpg, with CO2 emissions from 134 g/km
- The A 200 is powered by a 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 163 hp and 250 Nm. It can deliver between 47.9 and 46.3 mpg and emits 135 g/km of CO2
- The A 250 has a petrol 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine which generates 224 hp and 350 Nm. It can achieve between 41.5 and 40.9 mpg, while emitting 155 g/km of CO2
- The A 250 e features a 1.3-litre petrol engine with an output of 160 hp, with an additional 102 hp available from the electric motor. The on-board battery has a total useable capacity of 10.6 kWh, meaning the A 250 e has an all-electric range of up to 44 miles. It can deliver up to 256.8 mpg and emits just 25 g/km of CO2
- The 180 d uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which produces 116 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It delivers between 62.8 and 61.4 mpg on the combined cycle and emits 117 g/km
- The A 200 d features a diesel-powered 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine which produces 150 hp and 320 Nm. It can deliver between 58.9 and 57.7 mpg with CO2 emissions starting from 126 g/km
- The A 220 d also uses a 2.0-litre diesel engine with an output of 190 hp and 400 Nm. It can achieve between 57.7 and 56.4 mpg and CO2 emissions from 129 g/km
- A seven-speed automatic gearbox is available on the A 180, A 200, A 250 and A 180 d, while an eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard on the A 200 d and A 220 d. A six-speed manual is also available for A 180, A 200 and A 180 d
- A touchscreen interface is standard. It includes MBUX – Mercedes-Benz User Experience and ‘Hey Mercedes’ which uses intelligent voice recognition to control key features
- Starting from £23,755, SE models (A 180 and A 180 d only) feature twin seven-inch digital displays including central touchscreen including MBUX multimedia system with voice activation; 180° reversing camera; lowered comfort suspension; 16-inch alloy wheels; DAB radio; Artico and Bertrix fabric upholstery; Active Lane Keeping Assist; Speed Limit Assist; Keyless-Go starting function; air conditioning; and Mercedes-Benz navigation with real-time traffic information
- For an extra £1,500, the Sport trim line (A 180, A 200, A 180 d, A 200 d only) adds LED high performance headlights; 17-inch alloy wheels; Artico and Fléron fabric upholstery; and Thermatic automatic climate control
- Priced from £26,755, Sport Executive (A 180, A 200, A 180 d, A 200 d only) includes Active Parking Assist; Mirror package; 10.25-inch touchscreen central display; smartphone integration, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; and wireless charging for compatible smartphones
- For an additional £1,500, AMG Line adds 18-inch AMG alloy wheels; AMG bodystyling; Artico and Dinamica microfibre upholstery; a three-spoke sports steering wheel; privacy glass; and sports seats
- AMG Line Executive – priced from £28,255 – includes Active Parking Assist; Mirror package; 10.25-inch touchscreen central display; smartphone integration, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; and wireless charging for compatible smartphones
- For another £1,500 customers can opt for AMG Line Premium which includes Keyless-Entry; augmented reality for navigation; 10.25-inch digital cockpit display; Mercedes-Benz Advanced Sound System; rear armrest with two cup holders; and ambient lighting with a choice of 64 colours
- The AMG Line Premium Plus is priced from £31,255 and features Multibeam LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist; panoramic glass sunroof; electrically-adjustable front seats; and Traffic Sign Assist
